Kitchen Table
Cherry
72” x 38″ x 29.75”
This table was designed to coordinate with an existing set of 6 chairs, also built out of cherry. The trestle style eliminates the need for an apron, allowing more leg space under the table top. The breadboard ends of the table top are secured with square pegs, and boards with sapwood were chosen for the ends to add a bit of color contrast. The entire table, including the top, was finished with a blend of natural oils and hard waxes. While varnish would have been a more typical choice for the top due to its durability, the oil/wax blend is much easier to repair and allows for spot-refinishing.
